2021.12.05 23:41 Xanax_Distributor Help finding producticity/school/gaming laptop
So since school is back in session, I've decided to sell my desktop and switch to a laptop for all my gaming/school needs, so I'm not stuck with my crappy school-issued one for the whole day.
can drive fairly demanding games at 1440p UW
be sleek enough to carry around with me.
1tb or more storage
8 hours of battery, preferably, but I can deal with as low as six.
My budget is around 2000-2300 usd.

2021.12.05 23:41 gg2218 I’m asking curiously not confrontationally so anyone who hates the Wilfs… why? Like are they supposed to go give a halftime speech or go give Kirk a pep talk or something? I’m not doing the whole “defend billionaire” thing and all that- I’m genuinely curious what they’re supposed to do

I wanted to know whether Reading would have a Christmas market, and if so, what would I need to do to setup a stall at said Christmas market.

2021.12.05 23:41 y2justdog Some trees are better left uncut.
Wyatt and I had just moved into our new home, a mere three days before Christmas Eve. The one local vendor near us was sold out of Christmas trees, so we had to improvise. Well, not quite. Luckily, our backyard had a balsam fir from the previous tenants. It was a thing of beauty. We were a little hesitant to chop it down, but we planned to clear the yard out anyways to put a deck and patio in.
Two days before the Holiday, Wyatt took an axe to the tree. With the first swipe against the trunk, Wyatt dropped the axe and grabbed his chest. I thought he was on the verge of a heart attack, but he quickly composed himself and took another swing. This time the swing took his entire breath by surprise. He fell to the ground and coughed and panted and turned blue in the face.
I brought him back inside and made sure he rested. It was strange to see him so winded from a couple hacks. The color returned to his face, which calmed my nerves just in time before I decided to drive him to the hospital.
“Why don’t you let me have a go at it, honey. I can probably do the rest. You just lay down and take it easy, okay?”
Wyatt nodded from the couch and closed his eyes.
I went back outside determined to finish the job. Wyatt had always taken care of me. He was the breadwinner—even cooked most of the meals—while I focused on my health. The least I could do was help with a little project like cutting down a tree. Swing after swing and the axe barely made a dent. I gave up in frustration after about fifteen minutes of worthless progress.
When I returned inside, I noticed open, bleeding slash marks across Wyatt’s face, almost like a wild animal had pounced on him.
“Wyatt, you are bleeding all over! What happened?”
“I don’t know, I fell asleep.”
“Let’s get you washed up.”
Wyatt was noticeably weaker as he limped to the bathroom. I pulled his shirt over his head and gasped when I saw the wounds all over his chest and back.
“I need to get you to a doctor. Your whole body is cut up like you’re having some reaction or something.”
“Callie, we can’t afford another trip. I’ll be fine. Let me just take a shower. Don’t worry about me.” Wyatt squeezed my hand. “I’ll be alright.”
I left the bathroom and sat down in the living room. A loud crackling noise—like a tree snapping in half—got my butt off the couch and outside to investigate. The balsam fir’s branches and needles swayed against the wind. A bright white line appeared in the middle of the trunk and made its way down to the base.
It felt like the tree was practically begging me to cut it down, to put it out of its misery. I grabbed the axe and swung once more, connecting with a thunderous impact. The tree fell to the ground and liquid poured out. Something hideous slid out into the open. A man.
He was in the fetal position and covered in gunk. He rubbed the chunky substance from his eyes and looked at me.
“Oh, thank the lord. Darling, you saved me. Never thought I’d get out. I was giving this boy Pete a knuckle sandwich—a real shiner—and then I ended up in here trapped and alone and helpless. What year is it?”
“Two thousand twenty.”
The man’s eyes widened. “Seventy years. Seventy years! But I don’t feel a day over twenty.”
“What’s… all… this… commotion?” Wyatt murmured.
Wyatt slowly emerged from behind, weaker than I had last seen him.
“Who is this guy? Where did he come from?” Wyatt leaned in closer to the man on the ground.
Drops of blood fell from Wyatt’s face and landed on the tree. The tree rumbled and stood back up and bent its branches forward like it was a human welcoming Wyatt into its arms. I stood motionless, stunned by the horrifying transformation that took place on Wyatt’s body.
First, it started with his legs. Then his chest and arms. Tears stopped mid-cheek as his face became completely hardened and covered by bark. The balsam’s branches picked up Wyatt and pulled him to the trunk, absorbing him. The tree took shape and returned to its initial form from when we had first moved into the house.
It was hard to explain to authorities what exactly we witnessed. I came to learn that the man the balsam gave birth to was named Eddie. I think he eventually landed on his feet okay and got a job and place of his own.
As for me, I am still living in the house. The balsam—my husband—is still out back. Every so often, I get the temptation to cut him down, hoping that he will emerge unharmed. I have even taken a few swings, but every time I do, I can hear his voice oh so softly from within the tree. And it’s not pleasant sounding. He’s in pain. And I’m afraid that if I cut him down, he may not make it out alive. I don’t know what to do.

2021.12.05 23:41 skinky-dink Feeling emotions again after weaning
Hello! Looking to see if anyone has had a similar situation. So I weaned off of Prozac and it’s now been almost 2 months. I took it for a little over 2.5 years.
Well I just started a job and I have a coworker that’s slightly annoying. The thing is they are like super triggering me. Like I’m having to keep from biting their head off when they nitpick and I ended up snapping at them anyways in one instance. I’ve never had a hard time controlling myself before and I’m annoyed at myself for getting so upset. But then I had the thought that maybe it’s bc I’m feeling emotions again after all this time and I’m having a harder time modulating them. Does this make sense or is this something that could be happening right now? Thank you for any feedback!
